Fury as DHL driver appears to urinate near house as parcel undelivered

An entrepreneur has been left furious after a DHL driver appeared to urinate near to his house and his parcel went undelivered. Michael Klimek, 34, got a notification on May 16 stating his parcel, which included items vital to his new business, had arrived at his home on Bagshaw Street, Mansfield.

To Mr Klimek's confusion he then got another explaining the parcel had been delivered and signed for - despite him and his wife being at work. When he returned to his house he checked his own and his neighbour's CCTV, which to his amazement showed the delivery driver 'disappearing' off screen with the parcel and then appearing to urinating on the kerb next to his home. DHL Parcel UK has apologised over the incident.

"I had a notification that DHL was going to deliver a parcel to me," Mr Klimek said. "Shortly after, I got another one saying they had delivered it to my address and it had been signed for by someone with my surname, which was strange as me and my wife were at work.

"I rang up the company I bought the goods from asking where it was, and the company spoke to DHL who they said the driver said someone answered the door and signed for it. I thought 'fair enough', so I went home and checked the CCTV - my CCTV couldn't see my front door but my next door neighbour's does.

"Everything was caught on camera there. The driver knocks on the door, disappears with my parcels, comes back and takes a wee outside my house and goes. He has the parcel in his hand on the CCTV, but then he disappears off screen and then doesn't come back to the door with it."

Mr Klimek has been inconvenienced by the wait for the personalised items, which he needed to continue with starting his own car detailing business - he has had to order another set through a different delivery company. He has been contacting DHL to ask where his parcel went and if they will clean his kerb - but says he has not heard anything back.

"DHL wouldn't speak to me, so I've been having to go through the company I bought the goods from. I said 'look he hasn't delivered it' and asked what evidence they have that it was delivered and accepted, but all they did was send a picture of my next door neighbour's door. That is not evidence.

"I want whoever, the driver or DHL, to come back and clean the wee off the outside of my house. But they've ignored me, I was told they would look into it in the next few days, but I've heard nothing.

"I've still got a missing parcel, I've got all this footage, and your driver has taken a wee outside my house. It is all ridiculous."

A spokesperson for DHL Parcel UK said: "We'd like to offer our apologies to Mr Klimek for his experience. This falls far below our normal high standards. We have taken the issue up with the driver in question and contacted Mr Klimek to ensure he receives his parcel."
