Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers, and while it's typically with films, TV shows, or other video games, the latest collab sees Nike once again joining the fray.
Fortnite update 25.10 is here as the first major update of Chapter 4 Season 3; however, the update isn't the only thing happening in Fortnite today. Nike is teaming up with Epic Games once again (after a Nike Air Jordans collab in 2019) to release a new batch of cosmetic items and a UEFN island into the Fortnite realm. Plus, unlike trying to buy actual Nike sneakers, you won't need to pay hyper-inflated costs to re-sellers to get the items when the collab comes to the item shop.
However, the .Swoosh logo appears in the teaser video posted by Nike alongside the Unreal Engine logo which may mean that this collab will have some NFT integration. Hopefully this just means .Swoosh is working with Unreal Engine and that it won't be infecting the game, but we'll know for sure when the collab launches later today.
Fortnite x Nike Air Max: start time
Thanks to Fortnite leaker and dataminer extraordinaire @iFireMonkey on Twitter we know that the Fortnite x Nike Air Max start time is 5pm BST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT on Tuesday, June 20 (that's today!). which is the same time that the Fortnite Item Shop is set to update early today, instead of updating on its usual 24 hour timeframe.
This item shop is set to have a new 'Last Voice' background to go along with the collab, which resembles the background seen in the teaser image (via @Hypex).
It's unknown how long this collab will remain in the shop for, but based on previous collabs like Fortnite x Spider-Verse we'd expect it to stick around for a couple weeks at least.
What's included in the Fortnite x Nike Air Max event?
We won't have the full list of details until the collab is live in-game but thankfully @iFireMonkey is saving the day again, noticing the Nike app leaking out a look at one of the skins involved in the collab. The skin included in this leak, seems to be a cloud person with a shoe attached to the end of a stick – which is likely to be a pickaxe included in this collab. Until we know exactly what's included we won't be able to know the price of the Fortnite x Nike bundle, but previous skin bundles have been around 1800 V-Bucks.
Also in that Nike app leak is a look at an upcoming Fortnite x Nike UEFN island, which from a very grainy look we can see a big shoe and what looks like a stadium. It's unknown what we'll get up to in the Nike island, but considering this it may be some form of sporty event like an obstacle course. Or (more likely) it'll just be a giant ad for expensive shoes, who knows!?
