Former NBA players who identify as women are 'not eligible, WNBA says

NEW YORK — Former National Basketball Association (NBA) ​player Enes ⁠Kanter Freedom ⁠will not be ​eligible to play in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) after declaring his intention to enter ​the league's 2027 draft, according ‌to multiple reports Monday.

Multiple outlets reported that the league considers Kanter Freedom ineligible, along with fellow former NBA player Royce White, who also recently said he planned to enter the draft and that ​he identifies as ⁠a woman.
