
Fire crews raced to Crosshouse Hospital this morning after a car burst into flames.
The blaze erupted in a Ford motor earlier this morning in the car park outside the main hospital building.
The flames were so ferocious that a nearby car appears to have been fire damaged in the incident too.
One fire engine was at the scene tackling the inferno.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.21am on Tuesday, June 20 to reports of a vehicle fire close to Kilmarnock.

"Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the town's Crosshouse Hospital, where firefighters extinguished a fire which had taken hold of a car.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.
"There were no casualties."
