Fire crews race to Crosshouse Hospital after car bursts into flames

Fire crews raced to Crosshouse Hospital this morning after a car burst into flames.

The blaze erupted in a Ford motor earlier this morning in the car park outside the main hospital building.

The flames were so ferocious that a nearby car appears to have been fire damaged in the incident too.

One fire engine was at the scene tackling the inferno.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.21am on Tuesday, June 20 to reports of a vehicle fire close to Kilmarnock.
