Ex-Hibs player stalked partner during campaign of fear lasting months

A former Hibs player waged a campaign of fear against his partner which saw him stalk the terrified victim.

Jordon Forster repeatedly turned up at the home and place of work of the woman and accessed her phone without permission.

The 29-year-old, who also played for Dundee and Berwick Rangers, seized her arm during one incident and threw her on a bed.

Forster called the 30-year-old derogatory names and acted aggressively during a seven month period when the offences took place.

He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday and admitted engaging in a course of behaviour which was abusive of his partner.

Fiscal depute Klaudia Wasilewska said the court would be seeking a non-harassment order banning Forster from contacting or approaching Alicia.

Sheriff Kenneth Campbell KC deferred sentence on Forster, of Gorebridge, Midlothian, until next month for reports.

The sheriff asked prosecutors to prepare a written narrative detailing the offending for that hearing.

Forster played for Hibs between 2012 and 2017, making 79 appearances and scoring six goals.

He was in the Celtic youth system but moved to Hibs in 2010.

Forster signed for Tranent Juniors in East Lothian earlier this month after previously playing for Kelty Hearts.

Forster pled guilty to the abusive behaviour between May 1 and December 12 last year.

The defender admitted shouting, swearing, calling her derogatory names and acting in an aggressive manner which caused his partner fear or alarm.

Forster, who has no previous convictions, admitted striking a wall, a door and household items, causing damage to them.

He pled guilty to seizing the woman by the arm, restraining her and then throwing her on a bed.

He admitted a charge of accessing her phone without her permission,

Forster admitted repeatedly attending at her home address and place of work without invitation.

He pled guilty to pushing her and seizing her on the body by her clothing and carrying her up the stairs.

The Crown accepted not guilty pleas from Forster on a charge of repeatedly seizing her on the body and throwing her against a wall and onto a bed.

Prosecutor also accepted a not guilty plea on a charge of throwing a shoe at her head and biting her on the body to her injury.

Forster’s not guilty plea was accepted on a charge of retaining his partner’s keys and refusing to let her leave a property.

Sheriff Campbell said he would consider the motion for a non-harassment order at next month’s sentencing.

Tranent Junior’s announced Forster’s signing on scoial media. The club said: “Tranent FC are delighted to announce the signing of Jordon Forster.

"The towering defender has a wealth of experience - winning the Championship with Hibs and League Two with Kelty Hearts, and also a spell with Dundee.”
