Fire crews from Bristol were called out today (July 9) to tackle a blaze at a barn in Winford, North Somerset. In a tweet at around 4:23pm this evening, Bedminster Fire Station tweeted a photo from the scene, along with the caption: "Joh Oh Joy... #barn #fire".
The photo showed at least two fire engines and dozens of firefighters in front of the burning barn, with flames clearly visible inside. One Twitter user commented: "That's the last thing you need on a day like today".
Avon Fire and Rescue Service told Bristol Live that the fire (which is still well alight at time of writing) will be "going for the next few hours" as it is "fully loaded with hay". Though they also added that the fire had been "downgraded" since crews had began working to fight the blaze.

The fire service also confirmed that multiple crews had been tackling the blaze, including crews from Bedminster, Temple, Chew Magna and Nailsea. It is not yet clear what caused the fire, however, Avon Fire and Rescue Service has a plethora of information around staying safe and preventing fires during hot weather like today (where temperatures have reached highs of around 25C) on its website.
