Families can snap up food bundles for a single penny this summer in a promotion aimed at supporting communities amid the cost of living crisis.
Retailers across the country are offering shoppers 1p bundles throughout summer to help support struggling families amid high inflation and rising costs.
The bundles - containing some of the nation’s famous names - allow retailers to give back to families that are struggling with the rising cost of groceries, enabling them to worry less about feeding their children over the summer holiday period.
The community-led promotion is in partnership with grocery app Snappy Shopper, a home delivery service who have teamed up with over 40 retailers across Scotland including four shops in Ayrshire.
The summer-long promotion kicks of tomorrow (Wednesday, June 14) with the ‘1p Big Brand Bundle’ where customers can get some of the nation’s top products all for the price of a penny.
June’s collection of 1p bundles boast a variety of essential products as well as summer holiday treats and big brand goodies.
The promotion will finish on July 5 with the ‘1p Cupboard Fillers Bundle’ - a package of cupboard fillers including pasta, crisps and beans- meaning shoppers can stock up on basics everyday household items all for just 1p.
Ayrshire stores taking part in the initiative are:
• Costcutter Barassie, South Ayrshire
• Day Today Coylton, East Ayrshire
• Keystore Shortlees, Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire
• Premier Saltcoats, North Ayrshire
Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Shopper, said: “We believe in the power of community and during these challenging times, it is vital for us to lend a helping hand.
“These promotions offer customers an incredible opportunity to access a diverse range of products for just 1p, not only addressing affordability concerns but also supporting local businesses.
“Our goal is to foster a sense of unity and support within our communities, demonstrating that together, we can overcome any hurdle.
“Snappy Shopper is committed to making a positive impact, and these 1p bundle promotions will do just that.”
