Delayed Kanga League cricket tournament to begin today

MUMBAI: Slight or almost no rain for the past couple of days has meant that the much delayed Dr H D Kanga League will finally kick off on Sunday, marking the start of local cricket for the 2022-23 season.

This is the 75th year of the tournament.

"After the inspection of Grounds by Kanga League & Tournament Committee, (it has been decided) that Dr H D Kanga League matches on Sunday 28th August 2022 are as per schedule," MCA secretaries Sanjay Naik and Shahalam Shaikh mentioned on the MCA website on Saturday.

The monsoon tournament was supposed to begin on August 7, but has been washed out on all previous Sundays.
