People in Sherwood are confused as to what is happening regarding the Baazar Cash and Carry on Hucknall Road.
The discount store which will be open 24/7 was supposed to open earlier this year and with the lights of the store seen on, regularly, residents are wanting to know what is going on.
Previously, the store belonged to Bespoke.
Elivs Roberts, 60-years-old is a janitor who lives in Sherwood, he thought the store was meant to open weeks ago, he said: “I thought this was meant to be open from Christmas, it’s a shame, I’m moving house soon.
“I see the lights are on because I get the bus every morning at 5.15am to work.”
Ian Elliot, 49, self-employed from Arnold said: “I’m looking forward to it opening, I don’t know why it’s taking them so long, maybe it’s supplier issues, maybe there’s something wrong with the building.
“It would be nice for them to maybe put a sign up or a banner with an expected date if they’re going to be opening soon.
Linda Bridge, 70-years-old, is retired from Sherwood, she said she hopes the store is opening soon and said: “It’s such a big store and everyone loves a discount. I’m looking forward to it opening, it’s bigger than the Tesco Express.
“Lidl isn’t too far but it will be nice to shop about.”
