CHENNAI: Aravindh Chithambaram's body language isn't quite that of a champion. The 25-year-old is open enough to say that he was not expecting great things from himself and self-belief is not one of his assets. He also says that he talks to himself to attain equanimity and practises meditation too.
Aravindh, in fact, wasn't a first choice for the organisers of the Chennai Grandmasters event- the strongest round robin chess tournament of the country. The sixth seed got a chance because D Gukesh is preparing for the World Championship match against Ding Liren and R Praggnanandhaa turned down the invitation.
