Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
The United States of America winger is out of contract in a year's time and, at 24, is one of few players at Chelsea who the club would be willing to sell and could command a hefty transfer fee. It just hasn't happened for Pulisic since he joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund for £58 million in 2019.
He has had to contend with managerial and regime changes at the club and in his time at Chelsea, Pulisic has scored 26 goals and registered 21 assists in 143 matches. Transfer speculation continues around Pulisic, with Italian teams AC Milan and Napoli both said to be interested in a move for the player.
Indeed, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis opened the door to a move for Pulisic when he outlined his desire to sign an American this summer. "I would like to add more players," De Laurentiis said.
"I would like to have an American, because in America even if the league is worth little, there are great players who shine in the national team."
Meanwhile, Pulisic's branding deal with Puma continues full steam ahead with a new collection released with the German sports manufacturer last week.
Indeed, the collaboration recently saw Pulisic link up with the Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen in a bizarre partnership. "Day out with the fam," Carlsen wrote on social media platform Instagram alongside a picture of him shaking hands with Pulisic.
In the picture's comments section, Carlsen and Pulisic fans were left baffled by the link up, with one asking 'what in the multiverse?'
