Cammy Devlin says no Hearts players 'got hurt' at Celtic Park amid 'assault' claims

Cammy Devlin has insisted none of his Hearts teammates "got hurt" after Celtic's Scottish Premiership title win last month.

Immediately following Callum Osmand's goal to make it 3-1 at Celtic Park, some home supporters made their way onto the pitch, prompting officials to call a halt to the game with seconds remaining.

After the game, claims were made regarding Hearts players being "assaulted" by fans on the pitch, notably by investor Tony Bloom. "The final whistle hadn't gone, so no supporters should have been on the pitch," he told talkSPORT.

"The Hearts players were in danger, and one or two got assaulted. It is completely unacceptable behaviour, and the authorities will be looking at it. I don't want to say any more about that."

Despite this, no formal complaints were made to Police Scotland, as of last month.

Now, in a new interview, Devlin, who is out of contract at Tynecastle, has opened up on the post-match scenes, ahead of the World Cup. "It was horrible, to be honest," he said.

"I didn’t envision the last game of the season going the way it did, in terms of the result, and the scenes you all would have seen. That’s not what football is about. They won the game, and they were the champions. But just the way it all happened, the kind of last week with some of the decisions and stuff.

“It puts a bit of a sour taste on the ending to what was such a good season for such a special club. None of the players got hurt, but it wasn’t nice, and it never is.

“But at the end of the day, we didn’t quite get it over the line, which is something that will take a while [to process].”
