The Irish Restaurant Awards took place last night, recognising the people and businesses providing the best food and drink experiences in the country.
With a prize dedicated to Dublin's restaurant scene in each category, we found out where the best chefs and dining experiences in Dublin are. The Dublin local food hero was named as Eoin McCluskly of Bread41 on Pearse Street, who also won the overall All-Ireland title in the category.
Best Sustainable Practices in Dublin went to Airfield Estate in Dundrum, a working urban farm which has sustainability at the fore of everything it offers to visitors, including the delicious food at its farm-to-fork restaurant Overends Kitchen. Meanwhile the Dublin winner for Best Free From was Vietnom in Stoneybatter, which serves Vietnamese street food made with local ingredients.

The Dublin prize for Best Emerging Irish Cuisine went to Margadh Food & Wine in Howth, and Best Restaurant Manager in Dublin went to Conor Sexton of Nightmarket in Ranelagh. NOTE on Fenian Street was named Best Wine Experience in Dublin while Tiller + Grain on Frederick Street won the Dublin and All-Ireland title of Best Cafe.
Best World Cuisine in Dublin went to BIGFAN on Aungier Street, a Michelin-recommended restaurant which serves up bao buns and dumplings. Orwell Road Restaurant was named Best Newcomer in Dublin and in Ireland while Dublin Pub of the Year went to The Old Stand on Exchequer Street.
Best Casual Dining in Dublin went to Nannetti’s on Dawson Street, a restaurant which serves tasty modern Italian cuisine. Best Hotel & Guesthouse Restaurant in Dublin went to The Shelbourne Hotel, and Best Customer Service in Dublin and All-Ireland went to Uno Mas on Aungier Street.
Best Gastro Pub in Dublin was named as Davy Byrnes on Duke Street. Meanwhile, Dublin's best chef was named as Graham Neville of Dax Restaurant on Pembroke Street. Chapter One at Parnell Square, a Michelin-starred restaurant, was given the title of Best Restaurant in Dublin and also won the All-Ireland prize in the category.
President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Paul Lenehan, said: "The Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the existing and up and coming talent in the sector and are a reminder that hospitality is nothing without the dedicated and passionate staff in the industry."
