The Apprentice star Amy Anzel has opened up about her recent body transformation - revealing the two health conditions that contributed to her gaining weight.
The beauty business owner, 48, took to Instagram over the weekend to explain to her followers how she "gained and lost 70lbs".
Amy - who Lord Alan Sugar fired six weeks into the current series of the BBC series - shared a trio of before-and-after snaps with her 10.2k followers on Sunday, which revealed just how much weight she has shed over recent months.
In addition to chatting about her training routine, the businesswoman opened up about "years of struggling" with undiagnosed health conditions.
"I’ve had so many messages since sharing my weight loss story, so I thought I’d post a bit more info on how I gained and lost 70lbs," Amy began in the lengthy caption accompanying her impressive transformation pictures.
"Looking at these photos side by side, I barely even recognise myself in the before photo and am so proud of how far I’ve come!"
She continued: "After giving birth of Jacob, I was diagnosed with two conditions, Hypothyroidism, a condition where your thyroid doesn't produce enough hormones - and a thyroid related autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis - where the immune system makes antibodies that attack the thyroid and therefore it becomes under active and causes weight gain…"
Amy went on to explain that after years of struggling, and doctors telling her it was something she would "just have to live with", she decided 2021 would be the year she embarked on a weight loss journey.
"I went from 145lbs to 215lbs, weight I gained throughout and after pregnancy! Thankfully with the right medication, monitoring by doctors, a diet plan and an exercise regime that was tailored to my conditions, I was able to finally lose the 70lbs I’d gained and am now back at 145lbs," the star proudly wrote.
"I did A LOT of research into my conditions and the best ways to lose weight with them…it was HARD and some days it felt like I’d never get to where I wanted to be, but in 4/5 months I managed to achieve my goal!"
Amy credits "weight training several times a week" and doing 10,000 steps a day with helping her transform her body - alongside overhauling her diet and making many lifestyle changes.
"I’m more than happy to share any tips or advice I’ve learnt along the way so please keep the messages coming in and I’ll help in any way I can! If I can do it, so can you!!!!" Amy positively signed off.
The star's followers were grateful for her candid honestly in the comments posted underneath the motivational post.
"Thank you so much for raising awareness of this disease! I have this too and I’ve struggled for years," one fan told the axed Apprentice star, with another adding: "I needed to see this today, to keep me motivated!"
