As Amazon's Spring Sale enters its final day, tech deals have consistently been one of the most popular categories with shoppers keen to bag a bargain.
There's discounts on everything you'd ever need for your smart home, from smart plugs to minimise unnecessary energy consumption through to a third off smart doorbells, and a host laptop, tablet and phone deals.
There's also big discounts on Samsung, Apple and Google products. But, as savvy shoppers know, just because a price has been cut on Amazon doesn't mean it's actually the best deal.
We've taken a deep dive into the biggest discounts and offers for tech from the big three available right now, and the results might surprise you.
Best deals on Apple products
What's up for grabs on Amazon? Amazon has heavily promoted discounts on Apple branded products during their spring sale and there are definitely some big offers on the table. But, as is so often the case, the devil is in the detail.
While iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches and assorted straps and accessories are all included in the discounts, the biggest reductions are on things like cases. That said, if you're looking for last year's model of iPhone or iPad you can save up to 29% on an iPad Pro or 25% on an iPhone 13 512Gb.
AirPods are around 10% reduced depending on the model you choose. Notably the best hardware discounts are on higher spec gadgets, but in real terms what that means is you're getting bigger memory sizes or more power for your money which, let's face it, is not to be quibbled at.
Biggest deal: A pink leather iPhone XS case for £39.99 (48% off)
Our favourite deal: It's a couple of years old but the 9th Generation 2021 64Gb iPad in Space Grey is reduced to £396.99 for the Wi-Fi and Cellular combo version. It's currently £519 on both the Apple Store and John Lewis, and even Currys sale only gets it down to £484. If you want to make sure you can use your iPad when Wi-Fi is patchy this is a great deal.
Verdict: If you're you're not looking for the latest Apple releases, Amazon has some surprisingly tempting offers right now, although if you're after a mid-level memory for example you'll find that actually you'll still be spending the same amount of money but could get a 512Gb option for the standard price 256Gb for example.
Best deals on Samsung products
What's up for grabs on Amazon? Apple are notoriously reluctant to reduce the prices of most of their devices and products, particularly when they're new out.
Samsung on the other hand, as fans of the brand know, often offer big discounts, generous freebies and trade-in deals on their own website, meaning Amazon's Spring Sale Samsung deals needed to pack a punch to compete. Do they? In some cases yes, but it's not the only place on the web you can get a significant discount.
As with Apple, in part the quality of the bargains to be had depends on the spec you're after from your shiny new gadget, and the difference is notable. You can save £150 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ with 128Gb memory, taking it down to £849, while the S8 Ultra is 17% off, down to £999.
If you want a Galaxy Tab S8 though, the biggest discount (£120 off) comes from Samsung's site direct, and what's more you get 256Gb memory for £679.
Biggest deal: With the launch of the Galaxy A34 5G this month, it's not surprising to see the previous generation of Samsung phone get a price cut, but this is a hefty one.
The Galaxy A33 arrives with a water-resistant case, two-day battery, 5G, 48MP camera, and 3-year hardware warranty all for £259, which is 21% off and its lowest ever price.
Our favourite deal: Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are a brilliant pair of wireless earbuds designed to challenge Apple's AirPods Pro with the Express reviewing them and scoring them an impressive 4-stars. With 50% off they're now just £69.99 and for our money the best quality earbuds bargain live right now.
Verdict: Samsung has a solid showing with deals across, phones, tablets and other tech. Again, if you're looking for the newest models, you're better going to Samsung direct, but there's some big savings to be made elsewhere.
Best deals on Google products
What's up for grabs?: If your tech brand of choice is Google then there's a bit of a double whammy available right now, with many of the phones included in Amazon's Spring Sale Google deals including extra freebies.
There's up to 31% off phones, up to 26% off Google Pixel Watches and less exciting but still notable discounts on ear buds. While Google is offering device only discounts on its own site, there's nothing here to hold a candle to some of the bigger Amazon offers right now, and they're not throwing in extra tech either.
Biggest and favourite deal: Where Amazon's Google discounts are concerned, there's no difference between the biggest deal and our favourite one, because this really is a corker.
What's better than a chunky discount? How about a chunky discount and a generous freebie? Amazon is offering £270 off the Google Pixel 7 plus free Pixel Buds Pro in a great sub-£500 bundle.
The 5G phone has a 50MP camera and 128Gb of memory, and with the noise-cancelling Pixel Buds Pro still £131 standalone even in the sale, snagging both for £499 is good value. Bear in mind, while Argos has the phone at a discounted price, there's no Buds included. Even if you don't need the headphones and just put them straight on eBay.
Verdict: Right now, Amazon is the first place you should look if you're looking for Google phones this spring.
