5 MPs of CPI, CPM to visit strife-torn Manipur for 3 days to assess situation

NEW DELHI: The CPI and CPM have alleged that the central government is ignoring the disturbed situation in Manipur and is focusing more on engineering defections in Maharashtra. A joint delegation of five MPs of the two left parties will visit the strife-torn northeastern state for three days starting Thursday.

The main purpose of the visit by the joint delegation of CPI and CPM is to express solidarity with the people of Manipur and take stock of the situation in the state.
