Belarus’s president said Yevgeny Prigozhin had arrived in his country, as Vladimir Putin said Russia averted “civil war” after the mutiny by fighters loyal to the mercenary leader.

MOSCOW: Russia was preparing on Tuesday to take possession of heavy military hardware held by Wagner as Moscow moved to bring the mercenary group under its control after its aborted mutiny.

The announcement follows the Kremlin's earlier pledge not to prosecute Yevgeny Prigozhin and his fighters after he stopped the revolt, even though President Vladimir Putin labeled them as traitors.
