Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, said she'd bet on Bitcoin over gold or cash in the next 10 years.

Wood told the FT Europe would be a "tough nut to crack," with ETFs much less popular in the region than in the US.

"We did not participate in that IPO."

Ark's move comes amid the firm divesting its stake in rival chipmaker Nvidia.

Wood profited from riding a number of this year's big winners, including Coinbase and Tesla, but her overall portfolio has a profitability problem.

Impetus for the surge came from a widespread rally in both crypto-related and electric vehicle stocks. 

The investment firm has held a stake in Adyen since 2019, and following the additions, ARK's stake in the payments processor is now worth $14.5 million.
