On February 12, as students sat outside Delhi University’s Arts Faculty listening to anti-caste poetry and speeches, a bucket of water was hurled toward 73-year-old historian Irfan Habib. Minutes later, bricks came flying from inside the Arts Faculty.

NEW DELHI: Scores of Jawaharlal Nehru University students affiliated to the All India Students Association staged a protest near Delhi Police headquarters on Monday and demanded the arrest of ABVP activists for their alleged role in the violence at the varsity.

As part of All India Students Association’s (AISA) nationwide call, student activists held protests, Save NET exam, across the country. This included protests in Delhi, Chandigarh, Allahabad and Uttar Pradesh.
