YT has added a new two new coil shock equipped Capra builds to their range. The YT Capra Uncaged 10 will be available in both carbon and alloy frame options, both of which use a mullet wheelset.
The bikes are based around YT's best enduro mountain bike, the Capra which is now in its third generation. The frame features 170mm of travel and size-specific chainstays (433mm for S-L and 438mm for XL-XXL).
Currently, YT has three alloy and two carbon bikes available, all of which come in 29er or MX (mixed wheel mullet) setups and are specced with air shocks. Air shocks are great for riders who want to experiment and tune their bike's suspension performance, however, some riders prefer the small bump compliance and linear feel that you can only get from a coil-sprung rear shock.
The new Capra Uncaged 10 build features a Fox DHX Performance coil shock with an independent two-position lever. YT has specified the shocks with increasing spring rates as you climb the size range; 350lbs S, 400lbs M, 450lbs L, 500lb XL, 550lbs XXL.
The shock is paired with a Fox 38 Float Performance fork, SRAM Code R brakes, and a mechanically actuated SRAM GX drivetrain. Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro mullet wheelset with front and rear specific flex characteristics are shod with a Maxxis Assegai EXO+ front tire and DHR II Double Down rear tire. The rest of the spec is from E*Thirteen, Renthal, and SDG.
The carbon version of the Capra Uncaged 10 is claimed to weigh in at 16.4kg, while the Alloy version adds an extra 300g. It's not just the weight that differentiated the two materials, YT says that they offer different ride qualities with the carbon version giving a snappier ride and the aluminum giving a more planted feel.
Both bikes come in Ashen Green, the Capra Uncaged 10 AL is priced at $2,999 / £2,999 / €2,999 and the Capra Uncaged 10 CF costs $3,499 / £3,499 / €3,499. For full details on YT's new Capra Uncaged 10 carbon and alloy, head over to Yt-industries.com.
