The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed a significant overhaul of the emergency medical kits carried on commercial aircraft, giving airlines greater flexibility in deciding what equipment and medicines to stock while requiring them to remain prepared for the most serious in-flight medical emergencies.
If adopted, the proposal would replace decades-old item-by-item requirements with a system focused on ensuring airlines can effectively respond to critical health situations that occur during flights.
