A Mississippi woman has retained sole ownership of a 432-acre farm valued at approximately $1.2 million after her former husband challenged its status during their divorce. In its October 13, 2026, decision, the Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld the lower court's ruling that the property remained hers because the evidence did not establish that it had been converted into a marital asset. According to the court's opinion published by Justia, the farm's use as security for a loan that helped finance their marital home did not automatically give her husband an ownership interest. The appeals court also upheld the allocation of additional land needed for the home's septic system.
