Younes Kaboul has told football.london that there needs to be 'no expectation' placed on the next head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have had three head coaches this season in Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini and now Ryan Mason and are currently undertaking their search for their next permanent one as they seek a project manager who can build something for the long-term. Kaboul, who played for Tottenham in two spells across six years, believes the new man must be allowed to start again.
The 37-year-old former France international pulled on a Tottenham shirt again on Sunday to play alongside a plethora of former Spurs stars such as Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Ledley King, Danny Rose, Michael Dawson, Edgar Davids and Sandro in a remarkable charity match for Tottenham's popular kit man Steve Dukes in memory of his father and in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance at Bishop's Stortford FC in front of 3,500 fans.

When it comes to the current Spurs outfit, Kaboul is hoping that after a disappointing season the club will lower the pressure on the next head coach and allow them to build something new.
"It's been tough, it's been difficult. They need to bounce back, there's no excuses. I'm sure they will. They just need to start again with a new project, with no expectation, just take time to build and see where that will lead them," he told football.london.
"It's tough. I don't know who I would pick but the new manager has to keep the best players and just start a new project without such expectations. Just go step by step and I am sure because Tottenham have been here before there's no reason why they can't get back to where they were."
Kaboul was honoured to have been asked to link up with his former team-mates again at the weekend in the memory of Dukes' father Charlie and for a great cause.
"It was a brilliant day. We've done it for one person, well two people, our kitman Dukesy and his dad. It brought back so many memories and the fans were great. To see them again was special and the day could not have gone any better," he said.
"Dukesy has been a popular figure at Tottenham for years simply because he works so hard. He does his job properly and he treated us well and with respect. I remember at the time when I was there as one of the captains we used to make sure that everyone gave that respect back to Dukesy for everything he did for us. He's just a brilliant man."
Managed by Harry Redknapp on Sunday, the experienced Spurs side won 7-1 against a team containing celebrities and ex-players with Defoe scoring a hat-trick, Keane netting twice, Sandro once and Keane's young son coming on late in the game to round off the scoring.
"Some of them I haven't seen in ten years," said Kaboul. "Seeing them and playing alongside them it was like being transported to 10 years ago, like we had never been apart. I will cherish this group forever, along with Harry and his staff."
