Yes postpone upcoming tour dates due to guitarist Steve Howe requiring “essential surgery”

Steve Howe performs on stage with Yes on August 18, 2014 in San Diego, California.

Yes have announced that they'll be postponing their upcoming UK Fragile tour due to Steve Howe requiring “an essential surgery.”

The tour, which was scheduled to kick off on April 22 and last until May 4, is currently being rescheduled, with the new dates set to be announced soon.

“The upcoming YES ‘Fragile’ UK and EU Tour, due to commence on 22nd April, has had to be postponed as guitarist Steve Howe requires an essential operation that requires recovery time,” reads the official statement.

“This decision has been made to ensure that Steve can return to the stage in full health and deliver the performances that fans deserve. We are working hard to reschedule the UK and EU shows to a later date, with full details to be announced after Easter. Please retain your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates.

“Tour dates currently being arranged for later in 2026 will proceed as planned. Steve Howe and YES would like to thank their UK fans and hope for their continued support at this time.”

As the name suggests, the Fragile tour celebrates Yes’ landmark 1971 album of the same name – and their commercial breakthrough – with the band playing the record in its entirety.

In fact, the band’s setlist from the U.S. leg of the tour last year featured a couple of tracks that were played for the first time in years, including Onward, Madrigal, and Soon.

In a recent Guitar World interview with Howe, the Yes, Asia, and GTR legend revealed how he managed to overcome stage fright through an intense pre-show ritual.
