X Factor's 'Tesco Mary' stage show postponed as cast involved in car cash

A stage musical featuring The X Factor semi-finalist Mary Byrne has suffered a set back after cast members were involved in a road crash.

Menopause The Musical 2, features the Irish singer, 62, who ditched life as a Tesco worker after appearing on the X Factor and wowing audiences with her incredible singing voice.

Other cast members on the bill for the stage show include Jessica Martin (Copycats), Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty) and Susie Fenwick (West End Star).

New Victoria Theatre, Surrey announced via Twitter last night that the scheduled show due to take place today March 4, has been cancelled.

But did not confirm which cast members had been involved in the crash or their condition.

On hearing the news which was was also posted on the theatre's Facebook page, the cast were flooded with well wishes from fans.

One posted: "That's terrible news. Wishing all involved a speedy recovery."

Another added: "I’m so sorry to hear this, they are four brilliant and talented actresses. Sending my love to all the cast members and wishing them a speedy recovery xxx."

Mary, who was dubbed Tesco Mary, by fans, appeared on the seventh series of the hit ITV show alongside One Direction, which was eventually won by Matt Cardle in 2010.

The singer, has since under gone a dramatic transformation as she admits she didn't notice the pounds piling on before she ended up at 21 stone.

But with help from her daughter who inspired her to make a change she has shed the weight and also opted for a makeover and swapped her brunette locks for a blonde short crop.

The Menopause The Musical 2 tweet in full reads: "We are sorry to announce, that due to the cast being involved in road crash , the performance of Menopause the Musical 2 on March 4 will not go ahead. We will be in touch with more details via email shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The UK Tour further announced rescheduled date for planned performances in Wimbledon, Exmouth and Manchester also affected.
