The House left Thursday night after barely shooting down another war powers resolution and passing a last slate of funding bills, leaving it up to the Senate to avert a partial government shutdown by next week’s deadline.
But with a major winter storm predicted to blanket Washington and other swaths of the country in double digits of snow this weekend, senators are already facing delays that make for tight timing. A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., announced Friday that Senate votes originally slated for Monday would be postponed until 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
