Everton-linked Burnley forward Wout Weghorst has been overheard discussing Blues manager Sean Dyche as he continues to be linked with a move to Goodison Park.
The 30-year-old first moved to the Premier League from Vfl Wolfsburg in January 2022 as Dyche looked to bolster the attacking ranks of his then-Burnley side who were looking to claw themselves out of the relegation zone.
However, despite an unsuccessful first half-season at Turf Moor as the Clarets were relegated to the Championship, the Netherlands forward then had a loan spell with Besiktas before a temporary move to Manchester United as Erik Ten Hag sought to add a recognised No.9 to his ranks to aid the Red Devils' top-four chase.
Despite failing to find the back of the net during his time at Old Trafford, only doing so away at Real Betis and Nottingham Forest in the cups, Weghost started nine consecutive Premier League games between January and March for United and established himself as a vital member of Ten Hag's pressing system.

As such, he has been linked with a move to Goodison Park during the immediate weeks since the Premier League season ended. Now, in footage uploaded by the Netherlands national team's Youtube channel, the forward has been heard discussing Dyche with his international team-mates - prompting speculation he could be set for a summer switch to the Blues.
“He’s my old trainer from Burnley, though, [Sean] Dyche,” said Weghorst, as a snippet of conversation was overheard on a coach.
Back on Merseyside, Everton are expected to recruit attacking reinforcements this summer as they look to provide support to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has endured an injury nightmare at Goodison Park over the last two years. In total, the England international has appeared in just 17 of the Blues' 38 Premier League games and scored two goals on their way to survival.
Such was the nature of the struggles Dyche's side faced last term, it took a flurry of goals from midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, including a wonder strike against Bournemouth on the final day, to extend Everton's ever-present Premier League status for another 12 months at least.
