The oldest man in the world has died aged 112.
Spaniard Saturnino de la Fuente was named as the world's oldest man by Guinness World Records.
Mr de la Fuente died at his home in Leon, in north-west Spain, according to the state-owned news agency EFE.
He was named as the world's oldest man by Guinness World Records in September 2021. His death was confirmed today (January 18, 2021).
Mr de la Fuente was born in the Puente Castro neighbourhood of Leon on February 11, 1909.
He started work in a shoe factory aged 13 and went on to become a cobbler.
He survived the Spanish flu pandemic that broke out in 1918. He went on to marry his wife Antonina and the pair had eight children, followed by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mr de la Fuente will be buried on Wednesday at a local cemetery.
