NEW DELHI: The outfield at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala has come under criticism post the World Cup tie between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on Saturday. TOI had reported on September 16 that the International Cricket Council (ICC) had raised concerns over the outfield which was then heavily infested by fungus.
Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott came down heavily on the quality of the outfield after his team suffered a disappointing loss to Bangladesh in their opening match. Batting first, the minnows were bowled out for a mere 156 runs. Bangladesh successfully chased down the target in 34.4 overs, losing four wickets in the process.
