What channel is England vs Iran? Kick-off time, TV and stream details, team sheets

The 2022 Qatar World Cup has finally arrived, and England will be hoping to start in fantastic form when they face off with Iran in a Group B opener this afternoon.

The Three Lions followed 2018's semi-final placement in Russia with a brilliant runners-up medal at the Euros last summer - and will be hoping to take home the coveted trophy at this Winter's tournament for the first time since 1966.

Gareth Southgate's side for the tournament is filled to the brim with young and exciting talents, with a number of seasoned veterans thrown in to command the youngsters with their vital knowledge and experience.

Carlos Queiroz's Iranian side will be however hoping to spoil the party for Britons in the Middle East when the two come head to head this afternoon at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. Although going into the game as substantial underdogs, the 2019 Asian Cup semi-finalists will be looking to shirk their status in the tournament and prove they're a force to be reckoned with.

With all World Cup games televised across the tournament, here's everything you need to know about tuning into today's game.

England will head into their seventh consecutive tournament, achieving two fourth-place finishes in 1990 and 2018 since winning the trophy in 1966.
