Losing a pet is a terrible feeling, but one woman who was devastated by the death of her dog found a beautiful way to pay tribute to her. Devoted pet owner Anna got a tattoo inspired by her pitbull Storm, after the pet died in her arms.
The touching tribute helped bring comfort to the owner, who left people in tears after sharing the story behind her ink. Posting to TikTok as @garbage.bird, Anna created a video explaining why she has two small line tattoos - one on each ear. "Why did you get those lines tattooed on your ears? And why don't the ears match?" reads onscreen text during the beginning of the video, which also features photos of both sides of Anna's face.
In one picture, a downward-facing arrow can be seen, like a floppy ear, on Anna's own ear. In the next, she shows off an arrow pointing in the opposite direction on her other side. Shortly after, the video skips to a photo of Anna's beloved dog, who had similar ears. "Because hers didn't match," the owner explains.
She continues: "And now part of her is with me forever, even though she's gone. Love you forever, Storm."
Sharing further insight in a comment, Anna adds: "Storm passed in my arms on Oct 12 after a tough fight with cancer. She was truly loved by all who met her."
The video went viral, amassing over five millions likes and thousands of comments from well-wishes, who hoped to share their condolences with Anna.
One response read: "So sad but so sweet at the same time. I am so sorry for your loss." Someone else wrote: "What a sweet tribute to your soul dog." And another added: "This is so beautiful."
Several commenters also revealed Anna's video reduced them to tears. "I’m sobbing. she’s watching over you always," said one person. "I’m not crying, you’re crying," commented a second. Meanwhile, a different person replied: "This just wrecked me. Sending you all the love and light."
