Paranormal Podcast Host Films a UFO With 'Crazy Lights' and Ultimately Concludes 'We're Not Alone'

A Tennessee radio host has filmed what he described as a UFO with 'crazy lights' over Haywood County, saying the sight left him convinced that 'we're not alone.'

Mickey Utley, host of The Suppressed Signal, recorded the lights from his back porch in Haywood County, looking north‑west towards Halls, on Monday evening.

Utley sent the footage to local broadcaster, which described the video as showing what appeared to be a plane that vanished and reappeared in the night sky.

The footage has not established what the object was or whether it was an aircraft, drone, satellite or another phenomenon.

Radio Host Records 'Crazy Lights'

Utley said he had been looking north-west towards Halls when he noticed a bright light sitting low on the horizon. The area was quiet and dark, he said, before the object began 'fading in and out.'

'It was really quiet and it was really dark,' Utley said. 'It was like a star or something that was really bright, but it was low on the horizon and it just started fading in and out.'

The host said he fetched his wife because he did not want to be the sole witness. She briefly watched the display, he said, but when they went back outside again the lights had disappeared.

'I ran and got my wife because I just didn't want to be the only one to see it,' Utley said. 'Her jaw hit the ground for like 10 seconds. It was amazing, and so we come back out and they were gone.'

That remains an eyewitness account. The available reporting does not include an independent identification of the lights, an official aviation assessment or technical analysis of the original recording.

According to Utley, he saw more lights in the sky and could find nothing nearby that explained them. He is also an amateur drone pilot and said he believed drones could be ruled out, although the local broadcaster did not publish his reasoning in detail.

Radio Host Says Drones Do Not Fit

Utley hosts a programme focused on paranormal and extraterrestrial subjects and is an amateur drone pilot.

A local broadcast news outlet reported that Utley uses several apps to track satellites, aircraft and spacecraft passing over the area. He said he had checked for conventional explanations and that his alerts for the International Space Station and Starlink had not been triggered.

According to reports citing the National UFO Reporting Center, the sighting marks the sixth UFO report from the Brownsville area since 2000 and the first since 2023. A report in such a database does not, by itself, establish what an object was.

Utley later wrote about the incident on Facebook, referring to the late radio broadcaster Art Bell as a major influence and mentioning George Noory, whose Coast to Coast AM programme later covered the story.

'That night was so so so unusual,' Utley wrote. 'I can't explain it and I know it don't make sense. But folks, hate to bust your bubble, but we're not alone.'

Utley's conclusion goes beyond what the publicly available evidence establishes. What can be confirmed is narrower: a local radio host filmed lights he could not identify; his wife also briefly saw the display, according to Utley; and no independently verified explanation has been made public.
