Woman's bag stolen in Tesco car park as she loads car with shopping

A woman's bag was stolen from her in broad daylight at a supermarket car park as she loaded up her car with shopping she had just bought from inside the store. The incident took place at Tesco car park in Parc Trostre Retail Park in Llanelli at around midday on Monday, April 18.

She was putting items into her Fiat Panda vehicle parked next to a trolley bay when someone snatched her tote bag which has been described as a "distinctive Ralph Lauren" brand. The bag contained items including cash and bank cards.

Dyfed-Powys Police is now appealing for information in the hopes of tracking down the person responsible. Officers are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who had dashcam footage to get in touch.

A statement from the force read: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a theft which occurred at approximately midday on Monday, April 18, 2022 in the Tesco car park, Parc Trostre, Llanelli.

"A distinctive Ralph Lauren, Merrimack Tote bag containing a number of items, including cash and bank cards, was stolen while the owner was loading her car with shopping she had just purchased. The car, a bright copper/orange Fiat Panda, was parked 40 yards directly in front of the front doors under the canopy by a trolley park.

Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation, or anyone who may have been parked in the car park at the time and may have dash cam footage, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police."
