A woman has been arrested after police linked her to the fatal shooting of a grandfather in the NSW Central West two years ago.
Frank Smith was found collapsed in the front yard of a Wellington home after being shot in the abdomen on April 27, 2020.
The 48-year-old was taken to Wellington Base Hospital where he was unable to be revived.
Mr Smith has been described as a supportive and loving father and grandad.
Local police conducted initial inquiries into the shooting before the State Crime Command established Strike Force Libani to investigate Mr Smith's death.
In 2021, police recovered a firearm linked to the alleged murder.
In October 2021 a 31-year-old man was arrested in Wellington and charged with Mr Smith's murder. He remains before the courts.
Strike Force detectives visited a correctional centre near Kempsey and arrested a 55-year-old woman on Tuesday.
She was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
She appeared in Kempsey Local Court on Tuesday.
