Woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann will have DNA matched against missing child

A Polish woman, who believes she is Madeleine McCann, is due to have her DNA test results matched against the missing British girl, according to a private investigator.

Julia Wendell, 21, is awaiting the results of three DNA samples and a genetic test after posting on social media that she thought she was the three-year-old who disappeared in Portugal back in 2007.

Dr Fia Johansson, a private investigator and medium who is assisting the Polish national, has continued to keep the world up-to-date on her Instagram.

In a 40 minute live on her Instagram account she seemed adamant that the DNA results could be used to see if she is actually the daughter of Gerry and Kate McCann.

She said: “A lot of you ask why Kate and Gerry (are not involved).

“There is no need – Madeleine McCann's DNA is already there.

“They don't need to get involved with media press. When the the DNA test coming, which I am really badly waiting for and checking every day the status of it, we will match with a DNA test of (Madeleine) McCann.

“[She could also match] anyone else out there that looking for their kid that may [be] missing at that time.”

Julia has reportedly been staying with Dr Johansson in America for the last few weeks while DNA tests were carried out. During the testing, where her blood was also looked into, doctors found worrying signs that she could actually have Leukaemia.

The details were shared with permission of the 21-year-old last week, Dr Johansson said: “We are still waiting on the result of DNA testing that will show us exactly what Julia’s ethnic background is and what country she and her true family are from. These kinds of tests are very accurate.

“Of course depending on the result of that we will continue our investigation to see if Julia is could be Madeleine or another missing person.

“She has had a neglected childhood and suffered much abuse – her health is very poor she has bad asthma and she suffers lots of pain in her bones."

Those tests are due back this week, it was also claimed during the lengthy Instagram Live.
