A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a crash on Edge Lane.
Merseyside Police were called to the junction of Edge Lane and Rathbone Road at 6.15am on Wednesday (May 24). A red Volkswagen car had crashed into a road sign.
Two lanes city bound were closed as officers dealt with the incident.

A woman in her 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving. She was taken to hospital to be checked over.
Pictures from the scene showed significant damage to the front end of the Volkswagen. Officers ushered traffic into one lane to keep the road moving.
The lanes reopened after 8am.
