ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Boston Celtics are planning to sign veteran point guard Nick Stauskas to a two-season deal per his agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of Priority Sports.
“Stauskas had an historic week, scoring 100 points on 57 and 43 point performances in back-to-back games for Grand Rapids” Gold wrote Wojnarowski, referring to the Denver Nuggets G League developmental affiliate coached by Boston alum Jason Terry. Stauskas is the second player this week snatched up by the Celtics from Grand Rapids, with Boston having inked a rest-of-season two way deal by sharpshooting forward Matt Ryan as well.
Stauskas last played in the NBA for the Miami Heat earlier this season, signing a 10-day contract on the last day of 2021 that was not renewed by the Heat on expiration.
