William Saliba gives verdict on Arsenal fans’ chant and reveals squad sing it in dressing room ‘every week’

William Saliba has revealed his delight at the Arsenal fan chant that has become an instant classic at the club.

The earworm chant, to the tune of ‘Tequila’ by The Champs, has greeted the French defender’s long-awaited emergence inside the Gunners team and has even made its way into the dressing room.

“It makes me happy when the fans chant my name like that,” Saliba told Canal Plus via GFFN.

“Since the Bournemouth game, they’ve been singing it every match, and it gives me a lot of strength, and make me want to give something back by playing well and working hard.

“It’s sung in the dressing room every week, just to tease me a bit.”

Saliba, 21, scored a memorable first goal for Arsenal against Bournemouth with an outside-the-box effort that left the player hungry for more.

“It was a beautiful goal and it was great to score my first goal quickly for Arsenal,” he added.

“I am re-finding my shooting boots a bit because as a defender, it had been a while since I had had a shot. I’m hoping to score many more like that.”
