Will there be a second season of Netflix hit show KAOS? Fans thrilled after surprising update

It has had viewers on the edge of their seats to find out what happens next, and now fans want more.

The Greek mythology series KAOS, which many have claimed to binge-watch in one whole sitting, follows the lives of Greek Gods living among the mortals in a modern-day time.

Featuring a stellar cast including Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, the eight-episode season also includes Janet McTeer as his wife Hera, Nabhaan Rizwan as desperate-to-please son Dionysus, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Debi Mazar as Medusa and Stephen Dillane as Prometheus.

The show also features Suzy Izzard, Billie Piper and Killian Scott.

It tells the tale of Zeus, who begins to fear his reign is ending as he spots a wrinkle on his forehead, making him spiteful toward those living on Earth. Meanwhile, three ordinary humans set off on a journey to fulfill their identical prophecies.

But those who have binge-watched the entire thing and now find themselves at a bit of a loss without their Greek fix, could be in for a treat, as a second series has been teased. Here is all we know.

Will there be a second series of KAOS?

The short answer is probably. Although no official green light has been given, the show writers have this week given a massive update, saying they believe there is more to be explored with the characters.

KAOS creator Charlie Covell - otherwise known as the brains behind hit series The End of the F***ing World - said “anything is possible” in an interview with Cosmopolitan, adding that their original dream was three seasons.

They said: “My dream was three seasons. I’ve got many ideas and a strong sense of what I’d want to do with it.

“There’s definitely more. I also didn’t want to do an ending that was a total cliffhanger. I hope that it feels satisfying as a season one in its own right, and there’s always hope for more. Because I really would love to do more and work with those actors and that team. It was a bit of a dream come true.”

Has Netflix renewed a second series of KAOS?

Not yet, but considering the popularity of the show, it would not be the most outlandish theory to suggest one could be on the way. Normally announcements are made shortly after a series release once it has done well, so it could be imminent.

Covell said the streaming platform has “been very supportive” of the show, so watch this space.
