Why Norwich vs Tottenham will not be on TV on Premier League final day

Tottenham face Norwich away at Carrow Road for their final Premier League game of the season with Champions League football in their hands.

Spurs picked up back-to-back wins last week against north London rivals Arsenal and relegation-threatened Burnley as Antonio Conte's side moved two points clear of the Gunners into fourth. Conte will be without a number of players for the game against the Canaries, with Cristian Romero, Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon and Matt Doherty all expected to miss out on Sunday.

Son Heung-min is targeting the Premier League golden boot and is just a single goal behind Liverpool's Mohamed Salah heading into the final day. Champions League qualification would go a long way ahead of a busy summer transfer window for Spurs, making them a more appealing proposition for Europe's top players.

Spurs are in the driving seat for Champions League qualification ahead of next season, but their clash against Norwich will not be televised in the UK. SkySports have confirmed that they will show just three of the 10 fixtures taking place on Sunday afternoon, focusing on the title race and relegation fight.

The confirmed fixtures for broadcast on Sunday will be Manchester City vs Aston Villa, Liverpool vs Wolves and Brentford vs Leeds. Neither Norwich vs Spurs or Arsenal vs Everton have been selected to be televised live in the UK with SkySports being the only place to watch the above three games.

Spurs have a significant goal difference advantage over Arsenal meaning Conte's side would need to suffer a shock defeat to relegated side Norwich, with the Gunners winning at home to Everton, for fourth and fifth to swap positions. Manchester United could yet finish in seventh place seeing them qualify for the Europa Conference League should they drop points away to Palace and West Ham pick up a win against Brighton.

The race for a top four spot took a turn last week as the Gunners suffered back-to-back defeats to Spurs and Newcastle, whilst Antonio Conte's side narrowly beat Burnley following their north London derby delight. For the first time in 10 years, the title race, top four battle and relegation fight will go down to the final day.
