Loose Women has been cancelled on Thursday, July 7 in order to make way for an extended edition of ITV News, titled ITV News Prime Minister's Resignation Special. The daily talkshow has been dropped temporarily after Boris Johnson finally resigned as PM following the collapse of his government.
After a 24 hours in which he faced more ministerial resignations than any Prime Minister in history, it was reported earlier today that he is finally ready to stand down. ITV Lunchtime News will now begin at 12:30pm as opposed to its usual start time of 1:30pm, and will run for an hour – offering all the latest news and analysis of the turbulent week at Downing Street.
Loose Women is expected to return to its usual lunchtime slot Friday, July 8. The rest of the day's schedule on ITV sees TV Racing: Live from Newmarket and Extreme E Live both now airing on ITV3 as opposed to ITV, with coverage beginning at 1:30pm.

The afternoon on ITV will now consist of Simply Raymond Blanc, Dickinson's Real Deal, Tenable, and Tipping Point, before returning to its previously billed schedule with The Chase from 5pm.
Having withstood the Partygate scandal, questions over his defence of Owen Paterson, the questions over what he knew and who he told the truth to over allegations one of his own MPs groped a man were the final straw for Boris Johnson.
The Prime Minister could not withstand the pressure of more than 50 of his own MPs telling him they no longer had faith in him.
