Florida added 41 locally acquired dengue cases in a single week, the largest weekly increase reported this year, pushing the state's 2026 total to 152 infections acquired without travel. Thirty-nine of the new cases were in Hillsborough County.
The figures come from data the Florida Department of Health released Sept. 17 covering the week of Sept. 6 to 12, reported by WTSP. Hillsborough County alone now accounts for 134 of the state's 152 local cases.
