Who won Love Island 2021 and where are they now?

Love Island fans don't have to wait too much longer for the popular dating show to return for its eighth series. The new season lands on ITV2 on Monday, June 6 with 11 new contestants.

Among those in this year's line-up are Swansea paramedic Paige Thorne, 24, student Liam Llewellyn, 22, from Newport. You can see the full list of contestants taking part in Love Island 2022 here.

And with this year's cast announced and preparing to head into the brand new villa, attention has now turned to the show's past winners.

In 2021, fashion buyer Millie Court won the series with Welsh bricklayer Liam Reardon. The pair were crowned winners last August and split the £50,000 cash prize between them after beating runners up Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran in the final. But where are they now?

Liam and Millie were crowned winners of Love Island 2021. They were the first pair of bombshells to ever win the show after they both joined the series as late arrivals.

Their initially sweet romance in the villa was not plain sailing, however. Many will remember when Merthyr-born Liam kissed Lillie in Casa Amor, throwing his relationship with Millie into doubt.

Millie eventually gave Liam another chance and as the series came to a close, the two were crowned champions and ultimately decided to split the £50,000 prize. Millie was the lucky recipient of the envelope and chose to share 50% of the winnings with Liam.

But something fans always want to know is what happened next? Well, for Liam and Millie - it was revealed in November that the pair had splashed out on a pad together in Essex. Liam, who regularly returns home, has left Wales to live in Essex with his girlfriend.

Despite this, recently the lovers' relationship was called into doubt, with some fans convinced that Liam and Millie had split. The couple hadn't been spotted together for three weeks and therefore, there was some concern that they had parted ways.

The split rumours were ultimately proved to be false as Millie confirmed on her Instagram that the pair were very much still together. Ahead of the new series of Love Island, Liam and Millie have spoken to ITV about their time on the series.

Millie said "I will always be grateful to Love Island for introducing me to Liam, we had the summer of our lives and I cannot believe it has been a year since we met in Majorca. The villa gave me a new life that has enabled me to travel and work with brands I used to dream of working with. I also made friends for life, so I will always thank Love Island and I highly recommend anyone looking for love to apply!"

Liam, meanwhile said: "Love Island changed my life in so many ways which I will be forever grateful of. It forced me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things and has opened so many doors for new career opportunities, but most importantly it brought me and Millie together which probably would’ve never happened without the show. If I could go back in time I would 100% do it again."

Love Island returns on ITV2 at 9pm on Monday, June 6
