Who Scotland can get in the Nations League play-off & when it will be played

Scotland pulled off a Nations League relegation rescue mission in Poland last night.

John McGinn and Andy Robertson got the goals at either end of the game as Steve Clarke's side consigned the Poles to League B of the UEFA competition, meanwhile, giving themselves a golden chance to survive among the elite countries in section A.

They will have to overcome a two-legged play-off against promotion hopefuls from League B next year to achieve that.

Here are all of the details you need to know ahead of that...

When is the draw for the Nations League play-offs?

The draw for the play-offs of the Nations League will be held on Friday, November 22.

It will take place at 11am UK time.

A live stream will be available to watch on UEFA's website.

How does the Nations League draw work?

For the promotion/relegation play-offs, the following ties will be drawn: third-placed teams from League A will face the runners-up of League B and so on further down the divisions.

These ties will be played over two legs, with the highest-ranked team playing away first, and at home second.

If the team from the lower league wins, they will swap places, and the team from the lower league is promoted while the losers are relegated.

When will the Nations League play-off games be played?

The quarter-finals and promotion/relegation games will be played on March 20 and 23 next year.

The semi-finals and final of the competition will be played in June.
