The countdown to Tyson Fury's next venture in the ring is well and truly on, though question marks remain as to who exactly he will face.
Dillian Whyte has been mandated for a shot at Fury 's heavyweight title by the WBC but the two parties have been unable to agree to terms, with purse bids set to begin on Tuesday.
While there is hope that an agreement with Whyte can be reached, Fury's stance is clear that he will be active in the first quarter of the year ahead of a potential heavyweight unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua.
As such, co-promoter Bob Arum has named a number of other opponents that could take to the ring to face the Gypsy King - including Manuel Charr.
Here's everything you need to know.
What was said?
Speaking to talkSPORT, Arum provided an update on proceedings: “Fury wants to fight and wants to fight sooner rather than later. We can look around, get a good, decent opponent for him to fight if Whyte isn’t available. You’ve got guys like Robert Helenius and Manuel Charr.
“You just look at the rankings and pick a couple of guys from the rankings who would make decent opponents. I think unless an agreement is reached with Dillian Whyte, it [the purse bid] will go ahead sometime in the coming week."
What is his record?
The 37-year-old German has a 32-4 record in his career, winning 18 fights by way of knockout, and is on a four-fight win streak since 2016.
Those victories have come against Christopher Lovejoy, Aleksandr Ustinov, Sefer Seferi and Andrei Mazanik, while he can count the likes of Alexander Povetkin and Vitali Klitschko amongst his previous opponents.
When would a fight happen?
Fury's camp are looking for his next fight to come at the end of March, whether that be against Whyte or someone else, and Charr would fit into this plan.
It is possible that Fury's next bout could be pushed back to early April, which could well happen as negotiations for a fight with Whyte continue.
The likely plan is for a first-quarter fight to be followed by a unification bout in the summer, with the potential for a rematch in the latter months of the year.
