Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ‘F*** the Americans’ remark was ‘beyond the pale’ and deeply unhelpful, according to a former British ambassador to the US.

Sir Peter Westmacott, who served in the US between 2012 and 2016, said the comment not only failed to help the people of Northern Ireland but was irresponisble in UK - US relations.
