HSBC, Lloyds, Santander, Halifax, Natwest, Barclays and Nationwide have all announced they are to close branches across the UK next year.
According to Which?, 5,355 bank and building society branches have closed or are scheduled to have closed since January 2015 54 a month.
In one of the latest announcements, HSBC said it would close 114 banks, a quarter of its estate, in 2023. Lloyds is closing another 14 banks next year, while NatWest currently has 43 scheduled to close, reports The Mirror.
