San Luis Obispo County has confirmed its first measles case of 2026, and health officials say people who visited two local medical sites earlier this week may have been exposed. The patient is recovering at home and receiving medical care, according to the county's public health department. Officials have not said how the person was infected.
The exposure sites include the emergency room at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and Family Industrial Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. Because measles spreads through the air, anyone who was in those spaces during the listed times could be at risk if they are not immune.
