With Boris Johnson now not making a comeback as Prime Minister - at least for the time being - there's talk of what he might do next. And one set of number crunchers has used his colourful character to assess a variety of earners.
No stranger to wine and cheese nights during lockdown, it's reckoned there’s a 25% chance that Mr Johnson becomes a wine taster. Johnson boasted in 2014 he could rival Sir Winston Churchill’s propensity for booze, saying: “I can drink an awful lot at lunch and then write very fluently and fast. But if I drink at dinner, it just peters off.”
Perhaps being a party planner - a 20% probability - is another option. He had a fair bit of experience during lockdown, after all.
Politicians Ed Balls, Ruth Davidson and Jess Phillips all thrived on the celebrity version of The Great British Bake Off, while Mr Johnson’s sister Rachel excelled on the BBC’s Best Home Cook. So, could he enter the Bake Off tent and stare down Paul Hollywood? Last year he was asked if he’d ever want to go on Bake Off. His reply was: “I wish. I would love to do that. I don’t think they have ever invited me.” At odds of 8/1 it’s certainly possible, although the fact the Met Police fined Johnson over the birthday cake scandal in No 10 suggests maybe not.
The number crunchers at Gambling.com also suggest that divorce counsellor is an option, at 50/1. They even make him 100/1 to set up an OnlyFans account.
Sperm donor is apparently a long shot at 30/1. While bus driver is a very long 600/1, even though he got behind the wheel of the Brexit Bus in 2016.
While a comeback as PM is still considered possible at 20/1, the odds on Mr Johnson heading for space as an astronaut are longest, at 1000/1.
