Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts are some of the most challenging activities in Destiny 2. Capped at 50 Power below enemies without the ability to self-revive, playing these strikes requires precision and utmost care. Luckily, completing Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts also grants decent rewards, including a weekly featured weapon.
Similar to Grandmaster Nightfalls from before The Edge of Fate, Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts feature a single strike and a weapon for the entire week. It’s a great way to target a specific gun and also put your builds to the ultimate test.

Destiny 2 Grandmaster Vanguard Alert weapon this week (Jan. 6 to Jan. 13)

All Grandmaster Vanguard Alert rewards in Destiny 2
Completing a Grandmaster Vanguard Alert for the first time during the week guarantees a fully masterworked Tier 5 drop of the featured weapon with an Accelerated Assault Origin Trait. The following completions drop a regular Tier 5 drop if you achieve grade B or higher, with a small chance of getting a weapon with the unique Origin Trait.
Apart from weapons, there are also additional Portal drops and enhancement materials you can earn. Here are all the rewards you can get for completing a Grandmaster Vanguard Alert in Destiny 2:

Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts feature a weapon from the Pinnacle Ops loot pool. While you can simply grind Pinnacle Ops to get any of the guns, Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts is a great way to get a guaranteed Tier 5 drop with an additional Origin Trait.

More weapons might be added to the loot pool with the Shadow & Order major update in March. However, all the weapons will likely rotate out at the end of Renegades, similarly to what happened with weapons from The Edge of Fate, like Mint Retrograde, so make sure to grind out the god rolls before it’s too late.
